''Should I stay or should I go?'' Whether your next step is related to you studies or is the first step you'll take in order to chase your dreams or the career you've been dreaming of your whole life, the answer to this question rarely comes easy.
Drafting a 'pros' and 'cons' list might sound childish, but it will definitely get you in the process of weighting what's awaiting for you on both sides and what is currently on the line.
As an individual who chose to 'leave' I must admit that it wasn't easy, nor does it ever get as time goes by, but the one thing that kept me going was the thought of what was waiting for me at the end of this journey and how many things every single day (in what could definitely be described as a 'chaos') has to teach you.
Embracing each moment and thinking that even the 'worst' situations happened for a reason will help you adopt a positive mindset which will be your greatest shield and power.
The hardest part of being abroad, if you are asking me, was the idea of leaving everyone I loved behind, as no matter if I was blood related to them or named them family after years of friendship, they were the ones who pushed me, challenged me and made me want to be the best version of myself 24/7
[so I would advise you to prioritise finding people who will make 'away' feel like home]
Studying or working abroad helps expand your horizons, as the challenges you'll face on a daily basis and the instinct of survival will shape you into a whole new person. So if you are lucky enough to have the opportunity to 'get away' even as an exchange student for six months, don't miss it.
Lastly, after spending three years in the UK in order to complete my BA, I hardly believe that no matter how hard or challenging the whole process was, it was definitely the best gift my parents ever gave me.
..and when it gets hard and you feel like giving up, remember why you started and stay loyal to your dreams - as the end of the day, it all comes down to making your soul happy and your loved ones proud!
( as you can see nothing could take my 'ear-to-ear' smile away at the graduation ceremony)
