Making it work : New year's resolution edition

It's been a while , I know and it's definitely not you , it's me ...

And yes, judging from how long ago it's been since I last blogged, you can guess I have some goals to set myself for 2020 !

A new week, a new month and especially a new year have always been viewed as great starting points for the implementation of change. The change we so much desire is often linked to eating healthy, exercising more, being more present, being calmer and many more.

Step 1 done ! , you've set your goals, either for the first time ever or for another year that you'll try your best to stick with it.

( If you are one of those people who've slayed their goals last year and didn't need to set any this year please send tips ! )

As personalities and aspirations vary so do goals, but the unique element I've noticed that helps the achievement of all goals is being inspired. Having a constant reminder of where you are heading to makes achieving it much easier.

Your inspiration can be anyone, from the guy who’s sitting next to you in class, to the fittest girl in your gym and to the supermodel you’ve been stalking the past year ( Romee Strijd I love you !

Health related: it can be weight loss, weight gain, eating cleaner/ healthier, cutting out sugar completely or even hit the gym more.

Personal inspirations: Romee Strijd, Sarah's Day and you got to love Pinterest !

If your goal is improving your time management skills, then PLAN, PLAN, PLAN .

Tip: A good calendar always helps. (Paper Calendars) ( Smartphone Apps )

Step 2: Track your progress. Set smaller goals that will boost your spirit and keep you going. If your goal is to stop smoking, set as your first goal the first week and then the week after. Sometimes looking at the whole way you need to go through to reach your goal might scare you, but looking at it one step at a time can definitely help.

**Personally it helps treating myself each time I reach one of the small goals. Try saving an amount of money for each kg you lose or gain and by the time you reach your goal take that money and buy yourself something pretty .

It's pretty obvious that when it comes to goals one size does not fit all, therefore, don't compare your progress to others nor should you get disappointed if it takes more than 3 takes to achieve it.

Stay focused, stay determined and become the inspiration other people are looking for to start their progress !
